YOUR DESIGNER'S BIO

"What one loves in childhood stays in the heart forever." This quote by Mary Jo Putney encapsulates Dee's story. As a young girl Dee remembers meandering through her grandmother's ranch house making mental notes of how she wanted to decorate each room. She would go outside and pick wildflowers, and arrange them in vases to make rooms "look prettier".

Dee also remembers working in the furniture, accessories and rug departments of Macy's while going through college. "I always loved helping people find things they loved", and wanted to become an Interior Decorator, but was half-way through completing my credential programs to become a teacher.

During her career in teaching regular and special education students, Dee remembers learning how to use color to motivate students, to design appealing bulletin boards, and how to arrange furniture and desks to make stark classrooms appear more appealing. She would bring in sofas, tables and chairs to make more comfortable learning environments.

While teaching, she also became a Real Estate Agent working for Coldwell Banker. What Dee liked best about working in Real Estate was helping sellers make their homes more appealing and marketable. This was before Real Estate Staging became popular.

Now Dee has come full circle and is blending her childhood love of decorating, her life's experiences, and specialized training in the redesign technique into a new career. She is passionate about helping her clients by broadening the appeal of their home, thus increasing the market of potential buyers, which often commands a higher asking price. She is also enthusiastic about helping clients use more color in their homes, and in offering support and guidance in clutter control.
